Building Life Skills with Love and Faith.
Peter’s Academy is a nonprofit Christian school and therapeutic farm for children with autism and related disabilities.
Located on a working farm in North Fort Myers, we combine individualized education with vocational training, animal care, and Christian discipleship to help students grow in confidence, independence, and faith.
Peter’s Academy was founded by Rebecca Lemieux a single mother of twins—one of whom is non-verbal and on the autism spectrum. After years of navigating therapies and school systems, she saw a need for something different: a place where students could be safe, loved, and challenged to grow—not just academically, but emotionally, spiritually, and practically.
Peter’s Academy began as a labor of love and obedience to God’s calling. Today, it has grown into a working farm school where students can learn, work, pray, and thrive in a supportive environment.
At Peter’s Academy, we tailor education to the needs of each student while preparing them for real life.
We offer full-day instruction with a focus on academics, life skills, vocational training, and spiritual formation.
We teach core subjects including math, language arts, science, and social studies using learning plans designed to meet each student at their level.
Students learn essential daily living skills such as personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and using money responsibly.
Our students care for animals, plant and harvest vegetables, maintain the grounds, and participate in small business projects.
Bible study, prayer, and discipleship are part of daily life. Students grow in biblical values and spiritual understanding.
We coordinate with families and therapists to integrate support into daily routines.
Every child can be a “numbers kid” with the right support. Our Math classes break big ideas into friendly, bite‑sized steps, using games, visuals, and everyday examples to make concepts stick. We celebrate effort, encourage questions, and cheer every success—whether it’s mastering multiplication or spotting patterns in nature.
Reading and writing unlock a world of stories and self‑expression. In our Language Arts classes, students explore words through multi‑sensory activities—think magnetic letters, story cards, and acting out scenes. We focus on clear communication, creative thinking, and boosting each child’s unique voice.
Curiosity is a superpower! Our Science classes turn “Why?” into “Wow!” with safe experiments, nature walks, and simple demonstrations that make big ideas tangible. Students learn to observe, hypothesize, and discover—building both knowledge and confidence.
Understanding people and places helps children feel connected to the wider world. In Social Studies, we travel through time and across continents with maps, music, crafts, and stories. Lessons highlight respect, empathy, and each student’s place in their community.
